How to embed uploaded images

Hey guys,

I was wondering how I could embed uploaded images within a post. I know you can use the [ attach]attachid[/attach] code once an images has been uploaded but this seems a bit roundabout. Is there a known addon that does this? Ideally I am looking for a button in the WYSIWYG editor that enables the user to embed an image directly from their hard drive. I searched but couldn't really find anything other then full blown gallery addons.

I am surprised that there is no mod that does this already.

This is a good idea. We've been discussing the embedding of images in another thread, but I can't find the link right now.

I think it required a database where the uploaded images can store with the information of who uploaded the image like the name and the time etc and when requires it should be displayed with the users info.
