Footnotes within article pointing to bottom of article

I am not sure if MediaWikki has this one.

As we know from books, sometimes there needs to be more explain about certain word, phrase within book and we use reference notes for this purpose. (sorry but I do not know what is proper english translation for this, please correct me also in thread name ).

Reference note is link to the buttom of the page where is more explanation or more reference about particular words. Link is usually with upper case.

Example of article:
Digg is one of the most popular Web 2.0 1) project that geathers information from.......

----------------------------------------------
Reference Notes
1) Web 2.0 is used to describe social webpages with crowdsourcing of information, where useres gathers information content of the webpage....

I know we can use anchors for these (and I use it already as custom bbcode) but having this automated with [note]1[/note] bbcode that will produce upper case plus anchor at the end of the title link will be even more handy

Indeed, this feature (footnotes) has been requested multiple times...added to the feature request list.

Great !!! Is there a chance to add automatic footnote to each numbered-uppercase ending with parenthesis?
For copy and paste text?

Could you elaborate a bit on this? Thanks.

I think he's saying that typically footnotes use a number, 1-x on a particular page. So, I think he's saying that you could have a FOOTNOTE bbcode, and then put the footnote between the open and close, where you wanted it to be in the text, and that nuwiki would move them down to the bottom, format them, and index the numbers from 1-x in the body.

Right. But what about this part: "Is there a chance to add automatic footnote to each numbered-uppercase ending with parenthesis?"

Yes this is another business

Lets say you copy text with footnotes in it. I want engine to automatically link/format those footnotes from this: 1) to this [1] assuming footnotes are with uppercase ending with parenthesis....

OK, I guess I don't understand what you are asking for then... I probably shouldn't have tried to explain it... sorry.

We'll implement the foot note functionality, and then we'll see they work and about this second part.

You explained the first part much better then I did, so do not give up

Te second part was another functionality, basically it will make footnotes automatically without using bbcode out of every upercase number following with parenthesis

ElfMage, can you please change the title to the "Footnotes...." so that we speak english over here Thank you!

Does NuWiki support footnotes with clickable URL-links, like in wikipedia?

Not by default, but I have added this feature in the upgrade I mentioned in the other thread.
