It looks cool.

The only problem I see is it breaks the templates. As in this thread: http://www.nuhit.com/forums/suggesti...tin-hooks.html

Thanks.

What causes that template to break is the php blocks, which are too wide for the style. I corrected it for future posts..

We 'fixed' it.

It was broken in IE, so we temporarily disabled it. But it should be Ok now.

Try Ctrl-F5'ing your browser so that the new scripts are loaded.

Thanks.

i think its horrible! in some threads i cant even read the text because the background bubble is red and the text is white, and the background is white!

you guys neeeeeeeeeeeed to go back to normal....this is after all a simple tech support forum, we are not here to find dates and socialize. we just need info real quick. this whole graphical things is nonsense and a detrimental to that

ok, i get it, its a new product, its good for a socializing forum, but you guys should make the default style for nuhit forums the regular way....

otherwise, its a nice addon for a fun forum

Yes, this is a new product that we just launched.

The colors can be customized in the Admin CP. We could even use a single color setting.

But we want to get all kinds of feedback.

You can select the 'nuHIT Style - NuLook Disabled' style using the style dropdown at the end of the screen and it will disable NuLook.

well I am glad that ElfMage is making new ventures :-)

At least I gave myself honest laugh at this thread.

Feedback: It is nice concept, but my test would go with lighter colors.
And for posts, it looks like it is made halfway. Poster bit need also some kind of background and the line "Today 12:16AM #8" doesnt fit at all". This line should separate posts instead of linebreak. Currently there is toooo much space between bubles....

I think there is a big chanlange for vbulletin to change their design from tables to light css style, but this really need to be default otherway you are in trouble with customization of your forum style and making upgrades....

Here is style close to what I like and what I wish to have for my board (although I am afraid to install it because of heavy customization made on my board):

I'd just like to add that its a very intresting concept. It may not be for every forum but I'm sure many would benefit.

In the NuLook information you compare this to Gaia onlines post layout. I think if you wanted to go a step further to enchance this you could add whisper, shout, thiking speach bubbles.

Also:

NuLook does not add any extra images, flash or java applets.
I'm curious to find out how the bubbles are generated.

Thanks

Thanks. After feedback received, we are converting nuhit.com into a dating service, please stand by!

The colors are customizable on the Admin CP. You can select any color combination that fits your site. I chose this carnival of colors to showcase the capabilities....

Yes, indeed. But we didn't know where to put the date and moderation checkbox. For that matter the 'Quote/reply/edit' buttons also were a big question. So we decided to leave them in their default position until a better idea came to mind.

Initially we had the 'Quote/Reply/Edit' buttons at the top (similar to Gaia), but this didn't look good, and a couple of users suggested that we move them back to their original position, which we did.

Well, NuLook doesn't modify your postbit template, instead it uses its own postbit template.

Most of NuLook's postbit template is an exact replica of the default vBulletin template. We just bunched together all the information into a single div. So, when new versions of vBulletin come up, it takes us 5 minutes to produce a new postbit.

But, you are correct, if customers customize the postbit template extensively, it might be something to consider. However to some extent, this applies whether the site is using NuLook or not.

I like that style, it is very similar (or exactly) the style used by vbseo.com, isn't it?

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.

Thanks. Yes, I think that the nature of the specific community will dictate whether this add-on makes sense or not. I personally prefer the 'comic strip' style to reading threads over the standard long table format. But this is a personal preference...

But I think that in the long run, we will see more non-standard ways to represent conversational information. Take a look at Apple's iPhone's SMS interface: http://www.apple.com/iphone/phone/?feature=feature03

We have implemented the shout and thinking speech bubbles, but they require some polishing.

That is the secret ingredient....

We don't use Flash, or Java applets. And we do not generate the images on the server. We use vector graphics on the client. I'll be posting more details shortly.

Good showcase then :-) I guess I knew that it is customizeable via admincp... hmm but good colors here for fancy-dating-site :-)

The only think that worries me is that biiiiig space between post so users will get tired from scrolling ... (maybe) .-)
